APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University baseball and softball teams are on the road this week. In a new twist to the Midwest Conference baseball schedule, all the North Division teams will face off against their South Division rivals this weekend at the Woodside Complex in Mauston, Wis. Lawrence softball will travel to Illinois for doubleheaders with Knox and Illinois College. It's also a big week for Lawrence men's tennis, which can clinch a berth in the Midwest Conference Tournament this week.

SOFTBALL (12-14, 3-7 MWC)

Opponent: Lawrence at St. Norbert (11-11, 9-1 MWC)

When and Where: Wednesday, April 19, 3 p.m., Mel Nicks Field, De Pere, Wis.

Series Record: St. Norbert holds a 49-29 edge in the series that started in 1980. Lawrence has won the last five meetings with the Green Knights.

Fast Fact: Lawrence head coach Kim Tatro is nearing career victory No. 400. Tatro needs just three more wins to hit that milestone. Rookie center fielder Amanda Karnatz has swiped 30 bases in 24 games and is just seven shy of tying the season record set by Lawrence Hall of Famer Jenny Burris.

Fast Fact: Lawrence leads the Midwest Conference honor roll in a pair of events heading into this weekend's competition. Freshman Noah Shea is tops in the triple jump with a leap of 43 feet, 9.25 inches. Sophomore Max Stahl is first in the league in the javelin with a throw of 156-9.

Fast Fact: Lawrence needs one win in its final two Midwest Conference matches to clinch a berth in the MWC Tournament for the second consecutive season. The Vikings currently hold down third place in the league and are on a four-match win streak. When the Vikings host Ripon on Sunday, Lawrence coach Steve Francour will be going for his eighth consecutive victory against the Red Hawks since coming to Lawrence. His women's teams are 4-0 against Ripon and the men are 3-0. The Lawrence men are currently on a nine-match win streak against Ripon.
