Lawrence student-athletes chosen for Academic All-Midwest Conference team

APPLETON,Wis. -- Lawrence University had 153 student-athletes honored on the Academic All-Midwest Conference team for the 2016-17 school year.

To earn a spot on the academic all-conference team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.33 grade point average for the 2016-17 school year. The award is open to a student-athlete of any class year.

Leading the way for the Vikings was the women's swimming and diving squad, which had a school-best 18 honorees. Not far behind was the women's indoor and outdoor track teams. The indoor squad boasted 17 members of the academic all-conference team, and the women's outdoor track team had 15 honorees.

The women's tennis team posted an impressive number with 87.5 percent of its athletes being honored. Women's tennis team finished with seven honorees.

On the men's side, both the soccer team and the cross country squad hit double digits in representation. The men's soccer team had 14 honorees, and men's cross country had 10.
