APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University cross country star Josh Janusiak makes his first trip to the NCAA Division III Championships when he heads to Elsah, Ill., to compete on Saturday. Janusiak set a school record on his way to finishing 13th at the NCAA Midwest Regional and became the first Lawrence men's runner to qualify for the NCAA meet since 2000.

MEN'S BASKETBALL (0-0)

Opponent: Lawrence vs. Wisconsin Lutheran (0-0)

When and Where: Wednesday, Nov. 15, 7 p.m., Alexander Gymnasium.

Series Record: Lawrence has a 15-8 record against Wisconsin Lutheran in a series that started in the 1986-87 season. The Warriors have won the last two meetings, but prior to that, Lawrence had won seven straight.

Fast Fact: Lawrence opens its season this week with the largest roster in school history at 24 players. The Vikings also have the tallest player in school history with 6-foot-10 center Dylan Hamlin.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL (0-0)

When and Where: Wednesday, Nov. 15, 7 p.m., Sadoff Gymnasium, Fond du Lac, Wis.

Series Record: Lawrence holds a 28-24 edge over Marian in a series that goes all the way back to 1975-76. Lawrence snapped a six-game losing streak to the Sabres with a dramatic 51-48 victory last season.

Fast Fact: Lawrence returns home for its largest home meet of the season, the Gene Davis Invitational. Gene Davis, a member of Lawrence's Hall of Fame, was the long-time swim coach for the Vikings. His career went from the late 1950s to the early 1990s. Davis also coached cross country and track and field at Lawrence.

Fast Fact: Lawrence cross country star Josh Janusiak ran the fastest time in school history when he finished 13th at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional in 23:55.7. Janusiak became Lawrence's first men's qualifier for the national meet since Peter Levi in 2000. The last Viking to qualify was women's runner Valerie Curtis in 2002.
