APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University's Champions of Change is having its Spring Break Kick-Off Week with events today through Friday.
Kicking off the events on Monday is a dry evening in the Viking Room, which is located in Memorial Hall. They will be playing the "Newlywed Game" and the activities run from 7 to 9 p.m.
On Tuesday, information tables will be set up outside of Andrew Commons in the Warch Campus Center during lunch. Students will be encouraged to take a crack at the "Wheel of Booze."
Information tables also will be set up on Wednesday outside of Andrew Commons so students can test their alcohol knowledge. Also on Wednesday, Bystander Intervention Training will take place at 8 p.m. in the Cinema located inside the Warch Campus Center.
On Thursday, information tables will again be set up outside of Andrew Commons at lunch and students can challenge coaches to game of pong.
In the finale of the week on Friday, a Social Celebration is set for 8 to 10 p.m. in the Buchanan Kiewit Wellness Center. Along with plentiful free food, activities include giant Jenga and corn hole.
Champions of Change is part of the NCAA CHOICES grant won by Lawrence in 2017. NCAA CHOICES is an effort to educate students about the risks involved with the misuse of alcohol. Champions of Change is a group of student-athletes trained to provide peer mentoring and take the lead on alcohol abuse prevention efforts geared toward all students at Lawrence.
