APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University baseball team takes a run at a berth in the Midwest Conference Tournament when it squares off against Beloit College in a key four-game series this weekend. Lawrence also hosts its lone track meet of the season when the Viking Invitational is contested on Saturday at Whiting Field.

Three wins against Beloit, coupled with St. Norbert winning its series with Ripon, would put the Vikings in a tie with Beloit at 7-9 and get the Vikings into the conference tourament.

Fast Fact: Lawrence distance star Josh Janusiak was named the Midwest Conference Track Performer of the Week for the second consecutive week after a record-setting run at the Hillsdale College Gina Relays. Janusiak raced to a time of 30:17.00 to shatter his record of 30:58.96, which he set at the same meet in 2017. Janusiak was just eight seconds behind Michigan State's Joe Riordan, who won the event in 30:09.14. Janusiak's time places him 11th in all of NCAA Division III.
