APPLETON, Wis. -- More than 100 Lawrence University student-athletes have been honored on the Academic All-Midwest Conference team.
Lawrence collected 130 selections across 19 teams. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must have a minimum grade point average of 3.33 during the 2017-18 academic year.
The top teams on the women's side were track and field and swimming and diving, which had 14 selections apiece. These two teams also scored very high on a percentage basis as 14 of 19 members of the women's swim team made the cut, and 14 of 20 on the women's track team were honored. Women's cross country had eight selections among its nine team members.
Lawrence was unique in that had it had one student-athlete honored on four teams. Freshman Alex DuVall (Marquette, Mich./Marquette) was honored after competing in football, men's basketball, indoor track and outdoor track.
On the men's side, track and field, cross country and basketball had the most selections. Track and field was tops with 10 selections, followed by cross country and basketball with seven apiece. Cross country had the highest percentage with seven of its nine student-athletes honored.
