APPLETON, Wis. -- Ashley Rottier has been named the new head athletic trainer at Lawrence University, Director of Athletics Christyn Abaray announced today.
Rottier had served as the assistant athletic trainer before taking over the duties of head athletic trainer.
Before her two years of work with Lawrence's student-athletes, Rottier completed her master's degree in athletic training at The College of Saint Scholastica in Duluth, Minn. In addition to her various clinical assignments at Saint Scholastica, she completed an internship at the University of Washington while working primarily with the football team.
Rottier graduated from Saint Scholastica in May 2016 with a master's degree in athletic training. She also is a 2013 graduate of the UW-Oshkosh where she earned a bachelor's degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise and fitness.
Rottier is certified by the NATA-BOC and is a licensed athletic trainer in Wisconsin. She is also M1 Graston certified. Rottier is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, Great Lakes Athletic Training Association and the Minnesota Athletic Training Association.
A native of Shawano, Wis., Rottier is a 2008 graduate of Shawano Community High School.
Lawrence opens its fall sports season on Aug. 31 with a home tennis match vs. UW-La Crosse.
