APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence has a huge event this weekend as the Vikings play host to the Associated Colleges of the Midwest Tournament. The eight-team, three-day volleyball event starts Friday afternoon at Alexander Gymnasium.

Fast Fact: Lawrence won its season opener, a 20-13 victory over Grinnell, for the first time since 2006. Lawrence takes on Carleton, which is where Vikings head coach Rob McCarthy served as an assistant before being named Lawrence's head coach in 2015. Carleton was a charter member of the Midwest Conference before pulling out of the league following the 1982-83 academic year.
