APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University softball team will attempt to finally get in its home opener in when the Vikings host Ripon College on Thursday at Whiting Field. Lawrence men's tennis looks to wrap up a berth in the Midwest Conference Tournament this week as the Vikings play their final two league matches of the season.

BASEBALL (3-12, 0-4 MWC)

Opponent: Lawrence at University of Chicago (11-4, 0-0)

Series Record: In a series that started in 1982, Chicago has a 17-4 advantage over the Vikings.

Fast Fact: Lawrence picked up a big Midwest Conference win with a 5-4 victory at Lake Forest on Sunday. The Vikings are currently in third place in the league with two matches remaining. Lawrence can clinch a berth in the four-team conference tournament for the fourth consecutive season with a win at St. Norbert on Wednesday.

Fast Fact: Lawrence's Madeline MacLean pushed her season average past .300 with a big day against Monmouth this past Saturday. MacLean went 5-for-7 in the doubleheader with a double and a pair runs driven in. MacLean has been on a tear over the last seven games with a .478 batting average (11-23) to improve .317 on the season.

Fast Fact: Lawrence distance standouts Josh Janusiak and Joe Kortenhof are headed to California this week to compete against an elite field at the Bryan Clay Invitational. Janusiak went to this meet a year ago and shattered the school record in the 5,000 meters and recorded a top-10 time in the nation in Division III.
