APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University men's tennis team goes for the Midwest Conference title on Friday when the Vikings play in the four-team conference tournament. Lawrence enters as the No. 2 seed and faces Lake Forest in the semifinals. Grinnell squares off with Cornell in the other semifinal.

Fast Fact: Lawrence shortstop Nolan Spencer continues to edge toward a .400 batting average this season. Spencer has pushed his average to .397 entering Monday's doubleheader at the University of Chicago. Spencer hit a career-best .413 as a rookie in 2016.

Fast Fact: Lawrence won three of four this past week, including a Midwest Conference sweep of Ripon, and got some nice production from the bottom of the lineup. No. 8 hitter Liz Jonjak hit .462 for the week by going 6-for-13. No. 9 hitter Rachel Urich hit .444 by going 4-for-9 and posted a .583 on-base percentage. The Vikings averaged 6.3 runs over the past four games and hit .358 as a team.

Series Record: In a series that started in 1975, Lake Forest owns a 17-14 edge over the Vikings.

Fast Fact: Lawrence will take part in the Midwest Conference Tournament this week for the fourth consecutive season. The second-seeded Vikings take on No. 3 seed Lake Forest in the semifinals and top seed Grinnell takes on fourth-seeded Cornell in the other semifinal. The winners meet for the title Friday afternoon and a berth in the NCAA Division III Championships. The singles and doubles championships take place Saturday and Sunday at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.

Both Janusiak and Kortenhof are attempting to nail down a qualifying spot for the NCAA Division III Championships.
