The Week Ahead: November 11-17

APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University basketball teams tip off their seasons on Saturday when the Vikings host a pair of nonconference opponents at Alexander Gymnasium. The Lawrence women take on Carroll University while the men face Finlandia University.

Series Record: Lawrence is 5-2-1 against Aurora in a series that started in the 2015-16 season.

Fast Fact: Sophomore goaltender Alex Mosquera made his collegiate debut in the series finale against Trine this past Saturday. He was a bright spot in the loss as he played the final two periods and stopped all 26 shots he faced.

Fast Fact: The Lawrence women posted another victory last week when the Vikings edged St. Norbert in a dual meet. Swimmers Elise Riggle and Erin Lengel and diver Maddy Smith were all multiple event winners against the Green Knights.

Fast Fact: Senior standout Joe Kortenhof is coming off winning the title at the Midwest Conference Championships and has his sights set on winning a berth in the NCAA Division III Championships. Kortenhof will be a contender for one of the individual qualifying spots.

When and Where: Saturday, Nov. 16, 1 p.m., Alexander Gymnasium

Series Record: In a series that started in the 1990-91 season, Carroll holds a 29-20 advantage over Lawrence. This will be the first meeting between the teams since Carroll left the Midwest Conference after the 2015-16 season.

Fast Fact: Lawrence opens the season at home with four of its starters back from a season ago, and that group is led by two-time All-Midwest Conference forward Kenya Earl.
