BELOIT, Wis. -- The Beloit College baseball team swept a Midwest Conference doubleheader from Lawrence University on Saturday at The Ballpark at Strong Stadium.
Beloit won the opener 7-1 and took the nightcap 15-5.
In the first game, Beloit (7-11, 3-3 MWC) scored all seven of its runs in the first four innings. Jeremy Dutton and Austin Martinez collected three hits apiece, and Dutton drove in a pair of runs.
Austin Padjen allowed five hits over 7.1 innings to get the win. Kyle Duex gave up 11 hits over six innings and took the loss.
In the second game, Beloit rallied from a 4-1 deficit in the fourth inning and pulled away.
Lawrence (4-14, 1-5) scored single runs in each of the first four innings to build a 4-1 edge. Matt Holliday had a run-scoring single in the first, Mike Brady picked up an RBI double in the second and drove in a run in the fourth and Travis Weber had a run-scoring single in the third.
Holliday and Weber both finished with two hits for the Vikings.
Beloit tied the game with three runs in the fourth, scored four in the fifth and five more in the sixth to grab a 13-5 lead. The Bucs added two more runs in the eighth to end the game.
Mark Christine went 3-for-5 and drove in four runs for Beloit. Danny Belling gave up seven hits over seven innings to get the win. Holliday went 4.1 innings and took the loss.
