APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University baseball standout Nolan Spencer has been named the Midwest Conference Player of the Week.
Spencer (Elmhurst, Ill./York), a junior shortstop, picked up the honor after hitting .500 in four games against four different opponents last weekend in Jacksonville, Ill.
Batting in the lead-off spot in the Lawrence lineup, Spencer went 9-for-18 and posted a .550 on-base percentage. Spencer scored six runs and also picked up six stolen bases.
After starting out the weekend by going 1-for-4 against Blackburn College, Spencer collected a pair of hits against Loras College. He followed that by going 4-for-5 with three runs scored against MacMurray College and finished the weekend by going 2-for-5 against Eureka.
