MWC Tournament shifted to Monmouth

APPLETON, Wis. -- A forecast for rain in the Fox Valley this weekend has forced the Midwest Conference Tournament to be moved to South Division champion Monmouth College.

The four-team baseball tournament begins Friday morning with games at both Monmouth's Glasgow Field and Knox College's Blodgett Field in nearby Galesburg, Ill. The winner of the tournament receives an automatic berth into the NCAA Division III Tournament.

The updated schedule is as follows.

Friday
11:00 a.m., Game 1, St. Norbert vs. Grinnell (at Knox College)
11:00 a.m., Game 2, Monmouth vs. Lawrence (at Monmouth College)
2:30 p.m., Game 3, Winner of Game 1 vs. Winner of Game 2 (site to be determined based on the outcome of Game 2)*
2:30 p.m., Game 4, Loser of Game 1 vs. Loser of Game 2 (site to be determined based on the outcome of Game 2)*
Monmouth will stay on its home field for the 2:30 game. 

*If Monmouth wins at 11:00, then Game 3 is at Monmouth (and Game 4 is at Knox). If Monmouth loses at 11:00, then Game 4 is at Monmouth (and Game 3 is at Knox).

Saturday
10:00 a.m., Game 5, Loser of Game 3 vs. Winner of Game 4 (at Monmouth)
1:00 p.m., Game 6, Winner of Game 3 vs. Winner of Game 5 (at Monmouth)
4:00 p.m., Game 7 (if necessary), at Monmouth
