KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- The Lawrence University baseball team fell 5-1 to Nichols College on Monday in a nonconference game at Osceola Heritage Park.

Lawrence took an early 1-0 lead, but Nichols grabbed the lead right back and then sealed the win with a late home run.

Nolan Spencer paced Lawrence by going 3-for-4, and he scored the lone run for the Vikings (1-5). Clayton Agler made the start and went six innings for Lawrence. He allowed two runs on four hits, struck out two and walked five.

Robert Cobb tossed three scoreless innings of relief to get the win for the Bison (7-5). David Caron had two hits for Nichols, and Chris Anderson hit a two-run homer.

Lawrence took the lead in the bottom of the first when Spencer singles, stole second and scored on an error on Rudy Mueller-Schrader's ground ball. Nichols came right back with two runs in the top of the second with the big blow coming on Joe Assenza's run-scoring double for a 2-1 edge.

The Bison pushed the lead to 3-1 with a run in the seventh, and Anderson hit a two-run homer in the eighth for the final margin. Lawrence put a pair of runners on in the bottom of the ninth but failed to score.
