APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University football team dropped a 55-10 nonconference decision to Illinois College on Saturday at Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.

Illinois College (3-1) raced out to a 20-0 lead after the first quarter and never let the Vikings back in the game.

Reserve quarterback Timothy Owen tossed his first career touchdown pass for the Vikings, and Nick Pastrone grabbed his first touchdown pass of the season.

Cameron Wicks ran eight times for 57 yards and that included a 25-yard scamper to set up Lawrence's first points of the game. Owen ran 10 times for 37 yards and completed 2-of-4 passes for 34 yards, a touchdown and an interception.

Starting quarterback Billy Wallisch was 6-of-16 for 37 yards and two interceptions for the Vikings (1-3).

Illinois College quarterback Drwe Chance was 12-of-21 for 221 yards and three touchdowns. IC's Allen Smith hurt the Vikings with six catches for 154 yards and two scores.

Lawrence linebacker Eder Bellegarde picked up a game-high 11 tackles for the Vikings, and Jaxon Stratton and Sal Levi added seven tackles apiece. Safety Tyler Kujawa picked up four tackles and a pair of pass breakups for Lawrence.

Illinois College scored on its first four possessions and then blocked a punt that Ju'Qui Womack returned for a touchdown for a 34-0 lead. Chance tossed a 41-yard pass to Smith just before the half for a 41-0 lead at the break.

Lawrence got on the board midway through the fourth quarter when 31-yard drive, sparked by Wicks' 25-yard run, resulted in a 26-yard Brandon Hurt field goal. The Vikings then put together another scoring drive late in the fourth.

Lawrence moved 61 yards in 10 plays, and the big play was a 30-yard completion to Pastrone down the near sideline for a first down at the Illinois College 15-yard line. After Owens pounded for 11 yards to the IC four-yard line, he hit Pastrone in the corner of the end zone for a touchdown to complete the scoring.

Lawrence returns to action next Saturday when the Vikings travel to Beloit College.
