APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University football team dropped a 55-10 nonconference decision to Illinois College on Saturday at Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.
Illinois College (3-1) raced out to a 20-0 lead after the first quarter and never let the Vikings back in the game.
Cameron Wicks ran eight times for 57 yards and that included a 25-yard scamper to set up Lawrence's first points of the game. Owen ran 10 times for 37 yards and completed 2-of-4 passes for 34 yards, a touchdown and an interception.

Lawrence linebacker Eder Bellegarde picked up a game-high 11 tackles for the Vikings, and Jaxon Stratton and Sal Levi added seven tackles apiece. Safety Tyler Kujawa picked up four tackles and a pair of pass breakups for Lawrence.
Illinois College scored on its first four possessions and then blocked a punt that Ju'Qui Womack returned for a touchdown for a 34-0 lead. Chance tossed a 41-yard pass to Smith just before the half for a 41-0 lead at the break.
Lawrence got on the board midway through the fourth quarter when 31-yard drive, sparked by Wicks' 25-yard run, resulted in a 26-yard Brandon Hurt field goal. The Vikings then put together another scoring drive late in the fourth.
Lawrence moved 61 yards in 10 plays, and the big play was a 30-yard completion to Pastrone down the near sideline for a first down at the Illinois College 15-yard line. After Owens pounded for 11 yards to the IC four-yard line, he hit Pastrone in the corner of the end zone for a touchdown to complete the scoring.
Lawrence returns to action next Saturday when the Vikings travel to Beloit College.
