APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University men's basketball team ran into a hot-shooting squad in No. 6 UW-Oshkosh and fell 91-53 in a nonconference game Friday night at Alexander Gymnasium.
Oshkosh used its size to get looks inside and shot 31-for-60 (51.7 percent) for the game, but the Titans pulled away by shooting 17-for-31 (54.8 percent) from beyond the arc.
Jack Flynn and Jake Zeitler scored 16 points apiece for Oshkosh (8-1) and were among five players scoring in double figures. Flynn also collected a game-high eight rebounds.
The Titans raced out to a 16-2 lead less than seven minutes into the game before the Vikings rallied. Lawrence went on an 8-2 run, capped by Joe Duero's 3-pointer, to trim the lead to 26-19 with 6:13 left in the first half.
Oshkosh hit three 3-pointers in the final 3:44 of the opening half and pulled out to a 42-28 lead at the break.
The Titans then hit seven 3-pointers in the opening 7:45 of the second half to ease out to a 66-43 lead, and Lawrence wasn't able to mount a rally after that.
