Vikings fall to Grinnell

GRINNELL, Iowa -- The Lawrence University men's basketball team fell behind in the first half Saturday and never recovered in a 135-104 Midwest Conference loss at Grinnell College.

Grinnell posted 76 first-half points and led by 31 points at the half. Lawrence got no closer than 26 points in the second half.

Bryce Denham led six Vikings in double figures with 20 points, and he grabbed a team-best seven rebounds. Quinn Fisher added 19 points for Lawrence (8-8, 5-4 MWC) and handed out six assists.

Julian DeGuzman picked up 17 points for Lawrence and had five rebounds. Mason Materna added 16 points and seven rebounds, and Brad Sendell picked up 13 points and six assists for the Vikings.

Vinny Curta led Grinnell with 35 points and nine assists.

The Pioneers made 26 3-pointers and shot 51.7 percent from the floor, including 47.3 percent from beyond the arc.
