APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University men's basketball star Brad Sendell has been named the Midwest Conference Player of the Week.
A sophomore guard, Sendell (Pacific Grove, Calif./Pacific Grove) earned the honor after leading the Vikings to a split of a pair of Midwest Conference road games. This is the second time this season Sendell has been chosen as the conference's Player of the Week.
In two games last week, Sendell averaged 28 points, four rebounds and four assists. He shot 46.9 percent from the floor, including 52.9 percent from 3-point range, and connected on 85 percent of his free throws.
Sendell scored a career-high 31 points, going 6-for-9 on 3-pointers, in Lawrence's 78-74 win at Monmouth College this past Saturday. He went 8-for-14 from the floor and 9-for-11 from the foul line. Sendell scored 25 points, collected four rebounds and had four assists in Lawrence's 91-76 loss at Cornell College on Friday.
On the season, Sendell is averaging a team-best 18.6 points and 4.4 rebounds per game while shooting 43.8 percent from the floor and 88.5 percent from the foul line.
Lawrence (10-9, 7-5 MWC) returns to action on Wednesday when the Vikings host league leader St. Norbert College at Alexander Gymnasium.
