APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University men's basketball standout Brad Sendell has been chosen for the All-Midwest Conference team in a vote of league coaches.
Sendell (Pacific Grove, Calif./Pacific Grove), a sophomore guard, was a second-team selection.
Sendell enjoyed a stellar first season with the Vikings after transferring from Monterey Peninsula College. Sendell finished third in the Midwest Conference at 20.3 points per game while shooting 47.5 percent from the floor, including 40.8 percent on 3-pointers. Sendell also led the league in free throw shooting at 83.7 percent, finished 10th in the conference at 3.1 assists per contest and averaged 3.8 rebounds.
Sendell scored a career-high 31 points in Lawrence's win at Monmouth College on Jan. 26 and picked up 20 or more points in 11 conference games. He hit a career-high six 3-pointers in the game at Monmouth. Sendell had a career-high seven assists against Illinois College on Nov. 30 and collected a career-high 11 rebounds at Knox on Dec. 5.
On the season, Sendell averaged 18.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game while starting all but one game. Sendell shot 43.8 percent from the floor, including 36.6 percent from beyond the arc.
Lawrence finished the season with an 11-14 record, including a sixth-place finish in the league with an 8-10 mark.
