APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University men's basketball standout Brad Sendell was chosen as the Midwest Conference Player of the Week.
Sendell (Pacific Grove, Calif./Pacific Grove), a junior guard, was picked after averaging 25.5 points while shooting nearly 60 percent from the floor in a pair of games. This marks the first time this season and the third time in his career Sendell has been chosen as the MWC Player of the Week.
Sendell shot 59.4 percent from the floor, including 46.2 percent from beyond the arc, in the two contests. Sendell went 19-for-32 from the floor, including 6-for-13 from 3-point range.
Sendell went 10-for-16 from the floor, scored 26 points and picked up four assists in an 83-73 loss to Lake Forest College. He followed that by scoring 25 points on 9-for-16 shooting while picking up six assists in a 118-106 victory over Grinnell College.
Sendell improved his scoring average to 22.8 points per game, and that leads the Midwest Conference. Sendell is shooting 45.7 percent from the floor and 81.4 percent from the foul line. He also is averaging 3.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.
Lawrence returns to action Tuesday when it travels to Knox College.
