DE PERE, Wis. -- The Lawrence University men's basketball team fell 90-79 to St. Norbert College in a Midwest Conference game Wednesday at the Mulva Center.
Lawrence stayed close to the Green Knights all night, but St. Norbert was able to keep the Vikings at arm's length late in the game.
Lawrence's Brad Sendell erupted for a game-high 29 points as he went 9-for-17 from the floor, including 5-for-9 from 3-point range. Sendell added four assists and a pair of rebounds.
Bryce Denham added 17 points for the Vikings (9-11, 5-8 MWC) as he went 7-for-11 from the floor, including 2-for-3 from beyond the arc. Mason Materna, Brandon Danowski and Julian DeGuzman had nine points apiece for Lawrence.
Joe Ciriacks led St. Norbert (17-3, 12-1) with 22 points as all five St. Norbert starters scored in double figures. St. Norbert's starters combined to shoot 29-for-45 (64.4 percent) from the floor.
Lawrence led by as many as five points in the first half, and the Green Knights were up by as many as nine before settling for a 42-39 lead at the break.
The Green Knights eased out to a 63-52 lead with 13 minutes remaining and would lead by as many as 12 points. Lawrence trimmed the lead back to seven points four different times, the last with 1:36 left, but could draw no closer.
St. Norbert went 4-for-6 from the foul line in the final minute to seal the victory.
