HANCOCK, Mich. -- Lawrence University's Josh Koepplinger scored two goals Friday night to lead the Vikings to a 4-2 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association victory over Finlandia University at Houghton County Arena.

Koepplinger scored the game's first goal and then helped the Vikings seal the win with a third-period tally. Lawrence goaltender Evan Cline made 17 saves to pick up the victory.

Koepplinger gave Lawrence (7-8-1, 5-4-0 NCHA) a 1-0 lead when he scored off an assist from Lane King with 8:40 remaining in the opening period.

The Vikings then struck early in the second period when Nick Felan scored just 1:28 into the period to put the Vikings up 2-0. After Finlandia's Paul Lochner got sent off for roughing at the 4:12 mark, Lawrence quickly cashed in. Zach Satalino's fifth goal of the season at the 5:27 mark gave the Vikings a 3-0 advantage.

Finlandia's Connor Hannon trimmed the margin to 3-1 with a power-play tally late in the second period, but Lawrence went back up by three early in the third. Koepplinger scored his 14th goal of the season off assists from King and Tomas Vesely at the 4:38 mark for a 4-1.

Hunter Kero's goal for the Lions cut the lead to 4-2 with 10:13 left, but that's as close as Finlandia would get. The Lions pulled goaltender Marcus Gloss for the final 1:11 but couldn't convert with the extra attacker. Gloss finished with 25 saves.

Lawrence completes play this weekend with a trip to No. 1 St. Norbert College on Saturday night.
