Top-ranked Green Knights shut out Lawrence

DE PERE, Wis. -- Top-ranked St. Norbert College jumped on Lawrence University early Saturday and went on to a 6-0 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association victory at the Cornerstone Community Center.

The Green Knights (15-1-1, 10-0-0 NCHA) scored two goals in the first 4:42 and didn't look back. Nick LeSage scored two goals for St. Norbert, and T.J. Black and Ryan Bontorin combined to make 26 saves for the shutout.

Evan Cline started and made 13 saves to take the loss for Lawrence (7-9-1, 5-5-0). Greg Procopio played 33-plus minutes in relief of Cline and made 17 saves.

Brad Pung scored just 54 seconds into the game, and Dominick Sacco scored again at the 4:42 mark to put the Green Knights up 2-0. Kurt Black and LeSage added goals in the final 6:19 of the first period for a 4-0 edge after one.

LeSage and Steven Mather added second-period tallies for the final margin.
