DULUTH, Minn. -- Lawrence University scored first Saturday night, but St. Scholastica scored the rest of the goals at Mars Lakeview Arena and posted a 4-1 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association victory over the Vikings.
The win gives St. Scholastica the No. 3 seed from the North Division and makes the Vikings the No. 4 seed. Lawrence faces top seed St. Norbert in the quarterfinal series on Friday and Saturday at the Cornerstone Community Center. Game time is 7 p.m. both days.
That's all the scoring the Vikings would get as St. Scholastica struck twice in the opening period to grab a 2-1 edge. Cole Golka tied the game at 1-1 at the 7:10 mark, and Jordan Fralich added a power-play goal at the 11:47 mark to take the lead for good.
St. Scholastica (15-9-1, 9-8-1 NCHA) added a power-play goal from Davis Ross early in the second period and picked up an empty-net goal with five seconds left in the third.
NIck Trenciansky made 24 saves to pick up the victory, and Greg Procopio stopped 32 shots and took the loss for Lawrence (10-13-2, 8-9-1).
