LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Lawrence University hung with Lake Forest College until the middle of third period Saturday before the Foresters pulled away for a 4-1 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association victory at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.

Lawrence trailed 2-1 before the Foresters scored twice in a span of 3:09 to seal the victory.

Evan Cline helped keep the Vikings in the game as he stopped 38 shots for Lawrence (4-14-1, 2-9-1 NCHA). George Argiropoulos made 18 saves to get the win for South Division leader Lake Forest (10-5-4, 8-2-2).

Lake Forest took a 1-0 lead late in the first period on Joe Sardina's goal, but the lead didn't last long. Lawrence's Josh Koepplinger scored his third goal of the season just 4:12 into the second period off assists from Vincent Dekumbis and Jake Drinkard to tie the score at 1-1.

The score remained tied until late in the second period when Bron Loiselle scored on the power play for the Foresters with 2:10 left in the period. Lake Forest went 1-for-4 on the power play, and Lawrence was 0-for-1.

Lake Forest was hanging onto the 2-1 lead before third-period goals by Kyler Magus and Cullen Kane sealed the victory.

Lake Forest had a 42-19 edge in shots for the game.
