MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- Lawrence University dropped a 4-1 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game to MSOE on Friday night at the Kern Center.
The Raiders got a goal midway through the third period to build on its lead and then scored an empty-netter to seal the victory.
MSOE (8-8-4, 3-8-4) scored just 3:17 into the first period, and made the lead 2-0 on Nigel Nelson's goal with 2:08 remaining in the opening period. Lawrence got right back into it when Dekumbis scored off passes from Jake Drinkard and Zack Olen at the 8:02 mark of the second to trim the margin to 2-1.
It was a one-goal game until MSOE's Matt Hanewall scored his 13th goal of the season at the 11:23 mark of the third for a 3-1 lead. The Vikings pulled Cline with a minute left, but Kyle Herbster's empty-net goal with 52 seconds left sealed the win.
Logan Halladay made 29 saves to pick up the win for the Raiders.
Both teams went 0-for-1 on the power play in a game that featured only two penalties.
