APPLETON, Wis. -- Jawad Weleidat scored a pair of goals and Nicholas Jatta handed out four assists as the Lawrence University men's soccer team downed Lakeland University 4-0 in a non-conference match Friday on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.

Rookie goalkeeper Julien Riviere made three saves to pick up the shutout for the Vikings.

Rookies made a huge impact for the Vikings as freshman Dylan Petrucci got Lawrence on the board just 1:18 into the match. His first career goal came off assists from Jatta and Yuta Hayashi, who finished with three assists.

The score stayed that way until early in the second half when Lewis Berger scored at the 54:23 mark to give Lawrence a 2-0 lead. It was Jatta and Hayashi again picking up the assists.

Weleidat got his first goal of the night less than four minutes later when he scored off an assist from Jatta to make it 3-0. Weleidat scored off assists from Hayashi and Jatta at the 85:25 mark to complete the scoring.

Jordan Salm made six saves and took the loss for Lakeland, which was out-shot 17-6.
