APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University men's soccer team scored late Saturday, but Finlandia University hung on for a 2-1 non-conference win on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.

Finlanda (5-5-0) staked itself to an early 2-0 lead, but the Vikings hit back with just over 10 minutes left.

Lewis Berger scored for the Vikings off a great pass from Nicholas Jatta at the 79:56 mark to cut the lead in half. Just minutes before the Vikings missed an open net as a shot sailed high.

The Lions did a nice job possessing the ball in the final few minutes as Lawrence was unable to mount another quality scoring chance. Finlandia goalkeeper Patrick Miles made one save get the win.

Tyler Borkadi gave Finlandia the lead just 1:01 into the match when he capitalized on some confusion among the Lawrence defense. Borkadi scored again in the 28th minute when he was able to get the ball away from two Lawrence defenders in the box and convert for a 2-0 lead.

Lawrence goalkeeper Julien Riviere made five saves for the Vikings (1-10-0).
