APPLETON, Wis. -- Three different players scored two goals apiece Tuesday to lead the Lawrence University men's soccer team to a 6-0 nonconference victory over Maranatha Baptist University on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.

Andrea Arivella, Sam Parkhurst and Jawad Wleidat all scored twice for the Vikings. Rookie goalkeeper Cole Kelez made three saves to pick up his first career shutout for the Vikings.

It was the first two career goals for Arivella, and it also marked the first career multi-goal game for Parkhurst.

Wleidat got things started for the Vikings at the 7:17 mark when he scored off Suguaru Yoshitake's corner kick. The score stayed 1-0 until the final seconds of the first half when Arivella's long shot got through the outstretched hands of Maranatha goalkeeper Andrew Taylor and found the back of the net for a 2-0 edge at the break.

Parkhurst pushed the advantage to 3-0 just 4:02 into the second half. He headed a ball off Yoshitake's corner kick, and that shot hit the crossbar. It came back to Parkhurst, who buried the rebound for the goal. Parkhurst scored again at the 58:05 mark when his header off a pass from Brendan Vellenga made it 4-0.

Arivella got his second goal of the night at the 66:59 mark. He took a pass from Yuta Hayashi and sent a long, bending ball into the box. It was headed for the far corner of the goal, and a Maranatha defender wasn't able to successfully redirect the ball and it found the back of the net for a 5-0 lead.

Arivella created another scoring opportunity late in the game and drew a penalty kick. Wleidat converted the penalty kick at the 83:20 mark for the final goal.

Taylor and Tim Kinzler combined to make eight saves for the Sabercats. Lawrence put together a 26-4 edge in shots for the match.
