Jatta, Currie score but Vikings fall to Hamline

Nicholas Jatta scored the season's first goal for the Vikings.

ST. PAUL, Minn.-- The Lawrence University men's soccer team fell behind early Friday, and Hamline University went on to a 6-2 nonconference victory over the Vikings.

Nicholas Jatta and Zachary Currie both picked up goals for Lawrence in the season opener for both teams.

Hamline scored three times in the first 28 minutes before Jatta's unassisted goal at the 27:58 mark got the Vikings on the board. Hamline then added three more goals in the first half to bolt to a 6-1 lead at the break.

Currie completed the scoring with his first collegiate goal at the 68:05 mark off an assist by Jatta.
