APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University men's soccer standout Zach Currie has been named the Midwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
Currie (Janesville, Wis./Craig), a sophomore forward, picked up the honor after recording his first career hat trick. Currie scored all three goals in Lawrence's 3-0 nonconference win over Lakeland University.
Currie scored the game's first goal in the 17th minute and then added a goal in the 32nd minute to stake Lawrence to a 2-0 lead at the half. Currie the completed the hat trick with a goal in the 59th minute. Currie now has four goals through Lawrence's first three games.
Currie earned the MWC's weekly honor for the first time in his career, and he is the first Lawrence player to be picked as the Offensive Player of the Week since Nicholas Jatta was chosen in 2017.
