APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University standout Max Stahl has been named the Midwest Conference Swimmer of the Week.
Stahl (Tijeras, N.M./Sandia Prep) earned the honor after leading the Vikings to a 98-96 dual meet victory at UW-Oshkosh on Jan. 5. Stahl won two individual events and swam on a winning relay team.
Stahl won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:14.90 and took the top spot in the 100 backstroke in 58.96 seconds. Stahl also teamed with Tom Goldberg, Liam Wulfman and Anton Hutchinson to win the 200 medley relay in 1:42.54.
This marks the first time that Stahl, a senior, has been chosen as the Midwest Conference Swimmer of the Week. He is the third Lawrence athlete to be honored this season following swimmer Erin Lengel and diver Maddy Smith on the women's squad.
Lawrence returns to action on Saturday when the Vikings host Illinois Tech in a dual meet at Boldt Natatorium.
