Lawrence swimmers split with Illinois Tech

The Lawrence men fell to Illinois Tech in a dual meet.

APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University swimming and diving teams split their dual meet with Illinois Tech on Saturday at Boldt Natatorium.

The Lawrence women downed the Scarlet Hawks 153-66, and the Illinois Tech men topped Lawrence 128-64.

On the women's side, the Vikings won 11 events with three athletes winning two events apiece.

Mae Grahs took first in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:37.97 and took the top spot in the 1,000 freestyle in 11:30.86. Erin Lengel swam to first in the 100 freestyle in 55.38 and grabbed first in the 200 freestyle in 2:00.89.

Diver Maddy Smith won the 1-meter competition with a score of 239.90 and was first on the 3-meter board with a score of 244.60. 

Emmi Zheng won the 100 breaststroke in 1:11.42, Bridget Duero was first in the 50 freestyle in 26.49 and Mizuki Ohama was first in the 100 butterfly in 1:00.35.

The 400 freestyle relay was first in 3:58.15, and the 400 medley relay swam to victory in 4:11.61.

On the men's side, Anton Hutchinson was a multiple winner. Hutchinson won the 500 freestyle in 5:00.54 and took the top spot in the 1,000 freestyle in 10:23.16.
