Vikings roll to shutout win over Illinois College

APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University men's tennis team rolled to a 9-0 Midwest Conference victory over Illinois College on Sunday at the Lawrence Courts.

In a dominating performance to start the day, Lawrence (9-8, 3-2 MWC) won the three doubles matches and dropped only one game in the process. Both David Jumes and Bill Schuman-Kline at No. 1 doubles and Aidan Delgado and Cade Francour at No. 3 doubles were 8-0 winners.

Francour also posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 5 singles, and Yang Zhao cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6.

Schuman-Kline (No. 2), Connor Maloney (No. 3) and Delgado (No. 4) all won in straight sets. Jumes had the toughest match of the day was he downed Miguel Vaca 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-4) at No. 1 singles.

Illinois College fell to 1-7 overall, 1-3 in the conference.
