Jumes ties wins record but Vikings fall to Lake Forest

APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University men's tennis standout David Jumes tied the Vikings' career wins record, but Lake Forest College pulled out a 5-4 Midwest Conference victory at the Lawrence Courts.

Jumes beat Trevor Allen 6-7, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 singles to record career victory No. 60. Jumes tied the record set by former Midwest Conference champion Ryan Dunn.

Cade Francour picked up the other singles win for the Vikings as he beat Nick Rehm 6-2, 6-2. Lake Forest (12-10, 5-2 MWC) won the other four singles matches, including a trio of three-setters.

Lawrence (11-9, 5-3) got off to a great start in the matches by winning two of the three doubles contests. Jumes and Bill Schuman-Kline stopped Allen and Ellis Lora-Arceo 9-8 at No. 1, and Francour and Aidan Delgado were 8-4 winners at No. 3.
