APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University men's tennis team routed Ripon College 9-0 on Sunday and earned a berth in the Midwest Conference Tournament in the process.
The Vikings (11-8) pushed their league record to 5-2 and will play in the four-team tournament for the second consecutive season.
Lawrence jumped on the Red Hawks early as the Vikings easily won the three doubles matches. Lawrence dropped just three games total in the three matches. Connor Maloney and David Brooker posted an 8-0 victory for the Vikings at No. 2.
Lawrence didn't drop a set in winning the six singles matches, and top singles player David Jumes didn't lose a game. He defeated Lincoln Wurtz 6-0, 6-0 to highlight the singles victories.
The Vikings ran their win streak against Ripon to 10 consecutive matches.
