ST. PETER, Minn. -- Four Lawrence University men's tennis players competed in the ITA Midwest Regional this weekend.

Bill Schuman-Kline, Aidan Delgado, Connor Maloney and Cade Francour took part in the event at Gustavus Adolphus College.

All four Vikings lost their opening singles matches. Schuman-Kline fell 6-0, 6-4 to Carroll University's Chayce Roecker, and Delgado lost 6-0, 6-0 to Gustavus' Tommy Entwistle. Luther College's Grant Morton topped Maloney 6-1, 6-2, and Cornell College's Shoma Kishimoto 6-0, 6-0.

In the doubles, Gustavus' T. Connor Shives and Lawrence Hiquiana defeated Maloney and Schuman-Kline 8-2. Luther's Morton and Ryan Ortega topped Delgado and Francour 8-3.

Maloney and Francour took part in the consolation doubles competition and opened with an 8-1 victory over Arlo Detmer and Henry Johnson of Grinnell College. UW-Whitewater's Matthew Primozic and Robert Rider then edged Maloney and Francour 8-7, taking the tiebreaker 7-4.
