Cardinals get past Lawrence

APPLETON, Wis. -- Saint Mary's University won four of the six singles matches to secure a 6-3 nonconference win over Lawrence University at Fox Cities Racquet Club.

The Cardinals (5-10) won two of the three singles matches and then grabbed wins at Nos. 1, 3, 4 and 5 singles.

Aidan Delgado won both of his matches for the Vikings (5-6). Delgado teamed with rookie Jason Park for an 8-4 victory at No. 2 doubles. Delgado then topped Brett Giesen 3-6, 7-6, 1-0, winning the super-tiebreaker 12-10, at No. 2 singles.

Rookie Matt Chan also won for the Vikings as he defeated Alex Zuzek 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 (11-9) at No. 6 singles.
