Lawrence doubles up Rams

ASHWAUBENON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University men's tennis team won four consecutive singles matches on Sunday to post a 6-3 Midwest Conference victory over Cornell College at the Green Bay Tennis Center.

After the Rams had pulled the team score even at 2-2, Lawrence ripped off wins by Cade Francour, Evan Oriel, Aidan Delgado and Matt Chan to seal the victory.

Lawrence led 2-1 after the doubles matches as Francour and Delgado won 8-6 at No. 2 and Oriel and Chan were 8-3 winners at No. 3.

Francour started the singles win streak with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 4, and Oriel followed with a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 5. Delgado then clinched the team victory with a 1-6, 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 3. Chan added the final point with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 6.

Lawrence improves to 1-1 in conference play and pulled even for the season at 7-7. Cornell falls to 2-11 and 0-2 in the league.
