Cade Francour was a winner at No. 3 singles and No. 1 doubles in Lawrence's victory over Edgewood.

MIDDLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University men's tennis team took the lead after doubles play Thursday and rolled to a 6-3 nonconference victory over Edgewood College at Hitters Sportsplex.

Lawrence led 2-1 after the doubles as Connor Maloney and Cade Francour posted an 8-7 win at No. 1 and Aidan Delgado and Cam Strawn were 8-2 winners at No. 3.

Maloney also won over  Marius Dornhagen Schradermeier at No. 1 singles as he rallied after dropping the first set 6-3. Maloney won the second set 6-3 and took the super-tiebreaker 10-4 to claim the match. Francour was a 6-0, 6-4 winner over Jackson Venske at No. 3

Evan Oriel and Matt Chan won in straight sets at Nos.4 and 5 respectively. Oriel picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win over Bradley Erickson, and Chan topped Tommy Ebben 6-4, 6-2.

Lawrence improved to 2-0 on the season, and Edgewood dropped to 0-3.
