LA CROSSE, Wis. -- Lawrence University track and field star Josh Janusiak continued his assault on some of the school's oldest records on Thursday when he broke the mark in the 5,000 meters at the UW-La Crosse Qualifier.
A sophomore from South Milwaukee, Wis., Janusiak posted a time of 15:05.60 to break the mark of 15:05.84 set Lawrence Hall of Famer Eric Griffin back in 1985. Earlier this season, Janusiak broke Jim Miller's 39-year-old school record in the 10,000.
Janusiak, who captured three individual Midwest Conference titles during the year, finished fourth in the event, and freshman teammate Joe Kortenhof took 11th in 15:42.99.
On the women's side, Mikaela Hintz was 11th in the 400 in 1:02.46, and Brenna Ori was 10th in the long jump at 13 feet, 11.5 inches.
