PLATTEVILLE, Wis. -- Lawrence University track and field standout Josh Janusiak broke the school record in the 3,000 meters on Saturday at the UW-Platteville Select.
Janusiak finished second in the 3,000 in a time of record-breaking time of 8:44.41. Janusiak broke the record of 8:46.71, set by Cam Davies in 2014.
Lawrence's Joe Kortenhof also had a great day as he won the 5,000 and posted a top-50 time nationally in the process. Kortenhof grabbed first place with a time of 15:16.31, which currently ranks 42nd in all of NCAA Division III. Teammate Ben Schaefer finished second in 16:20.80, and Alec Timpe was fourth in 17:05.26.
On the women's side, Hannah Kinzer was the top finisher for the Vikings as she took second in the 3,000 in 11:26.28. Teammate Erin Schrobilgen was fourth in the 3,000 in 11:36.75.
The 4x400 relay team of Mikaela Hintz, Alyssa Kuss, Janey Degnan and Hallie Sogin raced to third place in 4:35.78.
Lawrence's Alex Chand grabbed fourth in the mile in 5:41.36, and Madeleine Stevenson was fourth in the high jump at 4 feet, 4 inches. Lawrence also recorded a pair of fifth-place finishes as Degan was fifth in the pole vault at 7-7.25 and Emily Hoeft was fifth in the long jump at 15-1.5.
