WAVERLY, Iowa -- Lawrence University distance stars Josh Janusiak and Joe Kortenhof went gunning for a spot in the NCAA Division III Championships on Saturday and came away with a school record at the Wartburg Qualifier.

Janusiak finished second in the 5,000 meters with a school-record time of 14:41.68, and his time currently ranks him 17th in NCAA Division III. Kortenhof finished third in the event in 14:48.46, which also topped the old record of 14:48.98. That record stood for just eight days as it was set by Janusiak on Feb. 23 at the Midwest Conference Championships.
