APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University track star Josh Janusiak was chosen as the Midwest Conference Track Performer of the Week after a record-setting run that placed him among the nation's best in NCAA Division III.
Janusiak (South Milwaukee, Wis./South Milwaukee), a junior, won the award after he blazed to a time of 14:34.55 at the Brian Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific University against of field of NCAA Division I runners from across the nation. Janusiak's time currently ranks eighth in all of NCAA Division III.
It was the second time in as many races that Janusiak broke his own school record. At the UW-Platteville Invitational on April 12, Janusiak ran a time of 14:42.86 to shatter the previous record of 15:05.60 that he had set that mark during the 2017 season.
This marks the sixth time during the 2017-18 academic year that Janusiak has been named a conference performer of the week with the honors split between cross country and track and field. Janusiak has been honored 11 times during his career.
Lawrence returns to action on Saturday when the Vikings travel to the St. Norbert College Quadrangular.
