APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University track and field star Josh Janusiak is headed to the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships later this week.
Janusiak (South Milwaukee, Wis./South Milwaukee) will compete in the 5,000 meters on Friday at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, Mass.
Janusiak has the 20th-fastest time in the nation at 14:32.15, and the top time in the nation belongs to North Central (Ill.) College's Dhruvil Patel at 14:00.07. The top eight finishers are All-Americans.
This is Janusiak's second trip to the NCAA Division III Championships. He qualified for the 10,000 meters outdoors in 2018 and finished seventh to earn All-America honors, but this is his first trip to the indoor championships.
Janusiak is the first Lawrence athlete to qualify for the NCAA indoor meet since Rose Tepper went in the high jump in 2011. He is first Lawrence male athlete to go to nationals since Kolade Agbaje-Williams was an All-American in the long jump in 2003.
