WAUKESHA, Wis. -- Sprinters Nora Robinson and Ethan Simmons led the way for the Lawrence University track and field teams on Saturday at the Pioneer Invitational at Carroll University.
Robinson placed in two events and ran on a top-five relay team to lead the Lawrence women. Robinson took sixth in the 100 meters in 13.40 seconds, and she finished eighth in the 200 meters in 28.29 seconds. Robinson also teamed with Emily Hoeft, Mikaela Hintz and Imani Duhe to race to fifth place in the 4x100 relay in 52.28 seconds.
Molly Doruska was the top finisher for the Vikings as she finished fourth in the 5,000 in 19:09.91, and teammate Christina Sedall finished sixth in 19:45.28.
Hoeft also finished fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 32 feet, 11.25 inches. Hoeft also teamed with Hintz, Hallie Sogin and Alyssa Kuss to finished fifth in the 4x400 relay in 4:34.56.
Sogin also grabbed a seventh-place finish in the 400 hurdles in 1:15.89.
Lawrence finished seventh in the team standings with 26 points.
Simmons was the top individual finisher for the Lawrence men as he took fifth in the 400 in 54.57 seconds. He also teamed with Mik Patel, Cameron Wicks and Cullen Allard to grab fourth in the 4x400 relay in 3:45.79.
Allard also ran to eighth place in the 800 in 2:04.23.
The men finished 10th in the team standings with 11 points.
