Janusiak takes title, Kortenhof third in 10,000 at MWC Championships

DE PERE, Wis. -- Lawrence University track standout Josh Janusiak collected title No. 6 on Friday at the Midwest Conference Championships at Schneider Stadium.

Janusiak raced to victory in the 10,000 meters to claim the sixth conference championship of his career. The senior from South Milwaukee, Wis., raced to first place in 31:07.75 to beat Jorge Villanueva of Lake Forest College by more than 11 seconds.

Lawrence junior Joe Kortenhof also earned all-conference honors in the event by placing third in 31:29.95. 

Janusiak has now won the 10,000 meters for three consecutive seasons, also has three MWC indoor titles to his credit. 

Leading the way for the women on the opening day of the championships was Molly Doruska, who took sixth in the 10,000 in 40:38.45.
