APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University cross country and track star Josh Janusiak has been chosen for the College Sports Information Directors of America Google Cloud Academic All-District 6 team.
This is the second consecutive selection for Jansuiak (South Milwaukee, Wis./South Milwaukee), who is a double major in philosophy and Spanish with a 3.95 grade point average.
Janusiak, who earned Academic All-America and All-District honors in 2018, recently capped his track and field career with another trip to the NCAA Division III Championships. An All-American in the 10,000 meters in 2018, Janusiak finished ninth in the 10,000 this season.
It was Janusiak's third trip to the NCAA track championships as he earned spots at the outdoor meet in 2018 and 2019 and went to the indoor meet in 2019 in the 5,000 meters. In the fall, Janusiak was an All-American in cross country after finishing 32nd in his second consecutive trip to the NCAA Division III Championships.
Janusiak finished his cross country career as one of the best runners in Midwest Conference history. Janusiak won his third consecutive conference title in cross country and became just the sixth runner in league history to accomplish that feat. He also holds the record for the fastest 8,000-meter cross country time in conference history when he clocked in at 23:55.7 at the 2018 NCAA Division III Midwest Regional.
On the track, Janusiak captured six Midwest Conference titles as he won the 5,000 meters indoors and the 10,000 meters outdoors in each of the last three years. Janusiak holds all the Lawrence distance records (3,000 and 5,000 indoors and 5,000 and 10,000 outdoors), and has the conference's indoor mark in the 5,000.
