Janusiak, Kortenhof finish 1-2, Kinzer takes fourth in women's race at Gene Davis Invitational

APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University cross country star Josh Janusiak grabbed first place Saturday and teammate Joe Kortenhof was second to lead the Vikings at the Gene Davis Invitational.

Women's standout Hannah Kinzer grabbed fourth place to pace the Vikings.

Janusiak powered to the victory by covering the 8,000-meter course at Reid Golf Course in 25:43 for his third individual title of the season. Kortenhof grabbed second place with a time of 26:22. Led by Janusiak and Kortenhof, Lawrence finished third in the team standings with 92 points. UW-Oshkosh was first with 42.

Lawrence's Ben Schaefer took 20th in 28:05, and Teddy Kortenhof was 31st in 28:59. Rounding out the scoring for the Vikings was Cullen Allard in 38th in 29:43.

Kinzer led Lawrence to a fifth-place finish in the team standings with 97 points. She covered the 6,000 meters in 23:55. UW-River Falls' Abigail Fouts won the event in 22:49, and the Falcons took the team title with 32 points.

The rest of the Lawrence scorers with closely bunched with Margaret Huck leading the way in 17th in 25:15. Erin Schrobilgen was next in 22nd in 25:32, and she was followed by Christina Sedall (25th, 26:02) and Alyssa Kuss (29th, 26:16).
